Niles Mason

Niles Mason Bio

The talented singer and songwriter whose recent collaboration with David Guetta and Afrojack, immediately placed him in the global spotlight.

Niles Mason may be one of the newer names on the international dance scene but is one who has been making serious waves this year. With a rich musical background, Niles initially grew up singing in a Boston based choir, playing the drums and piano to a high grade and listening to the sounds of blues and gospel. He subsequently won a place at Berklee College of Music where, alongside trying to satisfy his teenage hoop dreams of staring in the NBA, Niles cemented his musical foundations through performance and theory. While at Berklee, Niles also developed a wide-ranging musical knowledge, learning and taking influence from the likes of Radiohead to Donnie Hathaway as well as Prince, Stevie Wonder, Jimi Hendrix, Bjork and Ella Fitzgerald.

Since leaving Berklee, Niles has spent several years putting in some serious studio time, writing songs and working on productions with a partner under the name Coalition. His first recording session was as part of a choir and he also starred in a musical play alongside Glen Jones before auditioning for American Idol and playing in a range of local venues around Atlanta. In 2009 Niles secured a major breakthrough when he signed a publishing agreement with Warner Chappell – a deal that was to prove crucial in bringing his talents to the attention of major artists.

Initially working with Toni Braxton, Niles wrote the opening track Yesterday on her 2010 Pulse LP and then subsequently went onto work with David Guetta and Afrojack on Louder Than Words – a track that hit the national sales charts across Europe and received widespread international radio support. Further collaborations with David Guetta followed alongside work with the likes of Sebastian Drums and Discofly.

As a new face on the live club scene, Niles has been taking mentoring advice from his friend Chris Willis and is currently rocking the international dance floors with his fresh and energetic performances. He has made live appearances in clubs across US and Canada performing both the hit single Louder Than Words and a number of other songs such as Born To Fly. He recently made his first UK appearance in Liverpool and is building a solid tour schedule throughout Europe.

With his sublime writing and performance skills coupled with creative collaborations alongside the leading players on the international scene, Niles Mason has – to borrow a phrase from his beloved basketball – scored a triple-double! Having recently collaborated with hit songwriter Jenson Vaughan, Niles Mason is set to release a string of new tunes to close out the year with a bang.

The first collaboration between Niles and Vaughan will be the future club smash Not Letting Go produced by Chizzo and Maxim. French Rules is first up for release though, which is a collaboration with Sebastien Drums who has been one of the major exports within house music from France since dropping My Feelings For You with Avicii.

When not out touring the world, Niles has been hard at work in the studio putting his magic vocals on new tracks from the likes of David Guetta, Avicii and Fedde Le Grand all forthcoming!
