Crazy Cousinz

Crazy Cousinz Bio

Crazy Cousinz have helped define the UK funky genre, working and remixing everyone from Cheryl Cole to Ms Dynamite in the process.

The mastermind behind Crazy Cousinz is Flukes: a young and dynamic artist that is taking the UK funky scene by storm. Responsible for a number of the biggest club anthems, Crazy Cousinz has quickly become a phenomenon.

London-based Flukes has been working as Crazy Cousinz since 2007. His passion for music, combined with a wide range of influences, has resulted in a unique production sound which has already gained huge underground acclaim and mainstream radio support from the likes of Radio 1, 1 Xtra, Kiss FM, Rinse FM and Choice FM. Club support for his fresh talent has come from superstar DJs such as Trevor Nelson, Wiley, DJ Ironik, DJ MA1, DJ Naughty and Marcus Nasty.

Initially recording with Calista Robertson and remixing Kyla’s Do You Mind, Flukes also put his distinctive remix touch to the likes of Cheryl Cole, Neo, Little Boots, Alesha Dixon, Estelle and Kid Cudi. With a serious musical pedigree behind him, Flukes’ classical training helped catapult Crazy Cousinz’ first single Bongo Jam to nationwide recognition upon its release on Defenders in 2008. Subsequently, his first collaboration with Kyla titled Do You Mind peaked at #4 in the UK Dance Charts and now, with his latest single signed to Atlantic, Crazy Cousinz are on a roll. Flukes’ unique talent, coupled with MC Versatile’s idiosyncratic voice, also helped spawn two undisputed summer bombs: Funky Anthem and It’s That Funky.

In addition to the production and remixing, Crazy Cousinz have mixed This Is UK Funky House Volume 1, released a second collaboration with Kyla entitled Daydreaming, and produced Meleka’s anthemic single Go. This Is UK Funky House Volume 1 is a 2xCD compilation that was released on Warner Music and features some of the Cousinz’s hottest production and remixes as well as a host of other legendary UK funky tracks.

Flukes also performs live and accompanied by his various collaborators (as Crazy Cousinz) while maintaining a very busy DJ schedule. Having performed on Radio 1 from the infamous “Live Lounge” in Maida Vale, he is also constantly in international demand. Their tour schedule currently takes in all the major UK cities, high profile summer residencies in Ayia Napa and an increased amount of international shows throughout Europe.

With an ever-increasing radio and TV presence, a massive following via social networks on YouTube, MySpace and Facebook, an extensive new merchandise range and a host of new releases lined up, including a collaboration with R&B heavyweight Omarion, Flukes and his Crazy Cousinz alter-ego are a huge prospect. He is undoubtedly the driving force behind the UK funky scene and is a set to become major international player. Make way for the Crazy Cousinz!
