Klaas

Klaas Bio

Hardly any other producer could make it to the top of the worldwide DJ elite in such a short time as Klaas.

Klaas influenced and helped shape the German electro house sound more than almost any other producer of his elite calibre. Over the past several years, he has remixed and collaborated with heavyweights like Guru Josh, Erick Morillo, DJ Antoine, Eddie Thoneick, Michael Mind and Greg Cerrone. However, being the true professional Renaissance Man that he is, he has never lost sight of his solo productions.

Klaas sealed his superstar fate with his 2006 debut remix of Micha Moor’s Space. The Klaas Club Mix instantly became a worldwide success and was #1 on Beatport and the German Dance Charts for several weeks. Moreover he enjoyed worldwide support from DJs such as Bad Boy Bill, Moby, Tiesto and David Guetta.

Klaas’ 2007 single The Way was a great opportunity for him to show his diversity as a producer within the seemingly minute confines of the electro house spectrum. The Way climbed from to #2 of the German Dance Charts within a week of its release and stayed in the Top 10 of all relevant dance charts for several weeks after. The next release Make You Feel also reached Top 10 of the German Dance Charts and was a distinct guarantee of the intoxicating electro house production that has given Klaas his unique and sought-out reputation.

In 2008 Klaas succeeded in another chart takeover. His remixes of the classics Infinity by Guru Josh, Crazy Paris by Horny United and My My My by G&G nearly all made it into the Top 10 of the German Dance Charts at the same time. As if that were not enough, the remix of Guru Josh’s Infinity turned into a hot commodity after only a short period of time. Interestingly enough, not only was Klaas responsible for this groundbreaking remix, he was also the mastermind behind the characteristic vocals of the original mix. His efforts have not gone unnoticed as Klaas has received several Gold, Silver and Platinum awards in Germany, Denmark, Norway and UK. The official music video remains as one of the Top 45 most viewed videos on YouTube and was even voted the world best dance track of 2008.

Klaas’ collaboration with Haddaway in 2009 resulted in the single What is Love 2K9 which also reached the Top 10 of all international charts, and kept its stronghold in the French Top 20 for many subsequent months. The follow-up single Our Own Way ranked #7 in the French single charts. Klaas rounded off summer 2010 in true superstar style with several chart toppers including Downtown, Better Days and the smash hit It’s My Day, while 2011 saw another collaboration with Bodybangers resulting in the single Freak, and Klaas’ solo single I’m Free. These triumphs helped cement his reputation as an electro house heavyweight.

When talking about Klaas, one cannot forget his skills on the turntables. His innate musicality creates for seamless sets, with not just a stellar track selection but also nearly unparalleled technical ability. He is in demand in all corners of the world and has toured extensively in such countries as Australia, Sweden, USA, Brazil, Russia and Japan. The list is truly endless!

These days, Klaas is lending his already stellar production talent to both rising stars and living legends alike. He is releasing remixes for people such as French newcomer Stromae as well as his own productions. He is also touring extensively in his native Germany and in the surrounding regions. With a music gift like his, the innovator of German Electro House is definitely showing no signs of slowing down.
