Dollarman Bio

Dollarman is a force straight out of Brooklyn known for his dynamically gritty voice and innovative rhyme flow.

He has been capturing his audience in a lyrical groove packed with rhythms and rhymes for over ten years. He has grace stages all over the world from the Hamptons to England. Dollarman is a talented songwriter, artist and producer. He has a dynamic stage presence and stellar performances.

He is featured on the Money track of the Reggae/Dub version of Pink Floyd‘s album Dark Side of the Moon cleverly titled Dub Side of the Moon. The album’s success was accompanied by a UK tour as well as performances at Reggae on the River in California and a Midwest tour with the Easy Star All-Stars.

Dollarman spent four years in the US military; he was a member of America’s most elite paratrooper unit – the 82 Airborne. After his years in the military jumping out of planes, he returned home to pursue his music career.

Although his military training helped him become more disciplined and focused, it did not prepare him for his early trials and tribulations in the music business. He has had several years of disappointment and frustration in the Reggae music scene, but is finally seeing fruits of his labour paying off. He currently appears on Reggae legend Half Pint’s new studio album entitled Past to Present. The song entitled Babylon Release The Chains is one of the premiere tracks on the album and shows off his talent as a writer and DJ.

Most recently Dollarman is the featured Dancehall artist on Rock This Party (Everybody Dance Now) produced by Bob Sinclar. Rock This Party (Everybody Dance Now) also features Cutee B and Big Ali and samples the massive 90s hit Gonna Make You Sweat by C+C Music Factory featuring Freedom Williams.

The song is featured on Sinclar’s new album Western Dreams released on the Tommy Boy Label. Rock This Party peaked at #8 on the Billboard Hot Dance Airplay Chart in its fifth week of release and is still on the charts. The song is currently #1 in the Belgium and #3 in Finland and France, and #4 and #33 on the Switzerland and Netherlands charts respectively. The song is currently #29 on the United World Chart, a worldwide chart issued every week by Media Traffic, using both sales (digital and physical) and airplay to determine the most popular albums and singles in the world.

He has performed on a live radio and internet broadcast produced by one of the France’s biggest radio station, Fun Radio and Universal France. Fun Radio transformed the concert place LA Gigale in Paris into a big dance floor just for one night for 2000 contest winners. The event was named Soul & Dance Live. Other featured artist included Cassie, David Guetta, Beenie Man, the Pussycat Dolls and Gary ‘Nesta’ Pine to name a few.

He is scheduled to go back to Paris for two more live performances. First, the NRJ Cine Awards produced by the radio station NRJ in partnership with the chain of television TF1. Second, on Star Academy the highly successful television show produced by Endemol and broadcasted live in over fifty countries. It is broadcast on TF1 and has featured guest stars such as Phil Collins, Kylie Minogue, Mariah Carey, Céline Dion, Lara Fabian, Shania Twain, Madonna and now Dollarman.

Rock This Party (Everybody Dance Now) has already sold Gold in Belgium and Dollarman was awarded a Gold plaque at the 2006 MTV Europe’s The Music Factory (TMF) Awards held in Amsterdam, where he also performed.

In 2007 Dollarman released another track with Bob Sinclair and Cutee B entitled Let Yourself Free; the track samples the 1991 hit Everybody’s Free (To Feel Good) by Rozalla. He has also produced and released in collaboration with DJ Scribble the track Wine Yuh Body, and his solo project Your Eyes released on his Third Degree imprint, which was also remixed by Backra of Stone Love in Jamaica. 2007 also saw the Dollarman’s re-make release of All That She Wants by Ace of Base, while 2008 brought on Hit The Floor featuring Big Ali.
