Lisa Millett

Lisa Millett Bio

Undoubtedly one of the top vocalists and songwriters in house music today.

Lisa has spanned two decades working with the who’s who of dance, from the early years with the likes of Paul Oakenfold and Frankie Knuckles to the present day with DJ Spen, Jamie Lewis and Juan Kidd.

The Leicester-born vocalist comes from a background of classical music, jazz, roots & soul and progressive rock. Her parents were the first to introduce her to the sounds of Sam Cooke, Nat King Cole and James Brown, eventually leading her to the vast genres of hip-hop, disco, electro and funk.

At a young age she joined several bands as a singer or a backing vocalist until one of those bands, Soul Station, decided to aim for the stars and relocated to London, with Lisa. There the jazz-band worked hard to break through, while Lisa continued to take classes and enrolled in The Royal Academy of Music. One day she made the move from jazz to dance, joining the Manchunian dance group Evolution, and gradually achieving acknowledgement from the dance music scene.

Ever present on the international live circuit, she performs an impressive set which can include Bad Habit, Soul Heaven, It’s Alright, Don’t Bring Me Down and the latest offering Now You’re Gone. Adding an extra touch to her live performance, Lisa loves to freestyle it with whoever is on DJ duties.

Millett is a focused and determined artists that consistently pushes her own limits and boundaries, never ceasing to produce fabulous hits. Her discography contains a mileage of songs, and continues to grow as she continues to collaborate with some of the industry’s most recognisable and remarkable artists.

Some of her more recent releases include the well-received singles Dear Friend featuring Loftsoul, I’m Independent ft. Madam F and Speak To Me and Cool Lovin’ both featuring DJ Dealer. Other new tracks include Say Yes with Danism & Michael Grey on Defected, Dollar$ with Dario D’Attis on Purple Music, and the follow up to Now You’re Gone with Juan Kidd.

She is an exceptionally warm and talented singer with volatile vocals that reach through the vastness that is her fan base, and she continues to remain sharp and focused with a keen eye on 2012.
