Abel Ramos

Abel Ramos Bio

When a house music legend like Roger Sanchez names his breakthrough DJ/Producer of 2009, it’s time to sit up and take notice - meet Abel Ramos.

Madrid-born producer Abel Ramos has been inflicting the house scene with some heavy productions and remarkable remixes ever since he began DJ-ing in a local club at the age of 15, where he played anything from Human League to Nitzer Ebb.

Since 2001 Ramos has launched himself internationally playing in all four corners of the world. Once the decision came to produce his own unique heavy-beat, techno-infused house, he began to make an impression on producers and labels throughout Europe, including the well-known Swedish producer Axwell who signed one of Abel’s first tracks, Rotterdam City of Love, to his label Axtone.

Soon enough Abel Ramos established himself as one of Spain’s most talented DJs, bringing with him a supportive crowd and winning awards such as Best National DJ from the successful Spanish magazine Deejay Magazine. Equally so his reputation rooted him in events such as Sensation, Global Gatherings and Rock in Rio, not to mention allowed him to take his first tour to Australia in 2005.

He is the producer of hit songs such as For Your Mind, Rio With Love, Crash The Disco, One More, Aquarius and Electro Fun including the talent behind a number of high-quality remixes that have been impressing the music scene since he did David Guetta’s When Love Takes Over and Fatboy Slim’s Right Here Right Now. Wanted by many labels, Ramos has successfully collaborated with several such as the popular Dutch label Spinnin’ Records, Skint, Toolroom Records and Paintball Records.

In 2004 Abel Ramos launched his event SOLO in Madrid with an 8-hour set each time, shedding a variety of vibes from house music to techno; his last event saw a crowd of 5000 at the prestigious club Fabrik in Madrid. On top of that, he was invited to perform at Pleasure Island and in one of the most important festivals in Netherlands, Salinas Beach Festival, while claiming a quarterly residence in the Ik Club.

Ramos is a man of many talents and when he is not busy raising the roofs, he settles for hosting a weekly radio program called Concept Music on one of Spain’s most established radio stations Loca FM. He also got chosen to be the only Spanish representative of the first edition of Sensation in Spain.

2010 continued to bring success to Abel Ramos as he launched his own label with the help of Spinnin Records called With Love Music, while at the same time deciding to pause working on remixes and instead focus on delivering new material; do we dare wish for a debut album? Whatever the Spaniard decides, it seems success is two steps behind.
