DJ Paulette

DJ Paulette Bio

As a resident of Le Red Light in Paris and France's national radio FG, Paulette stays one step ahead of the beat...

Now acclimatized and loving the Parisian lifestyle, DJ Paulette has spent the last two years working hard, learning a new language, learning new skills, making new international contacts and effortlessly improving her technique. Two whirlwind years of weekly radio shows, amazing Parisian residencies and touring throughout France and overseas, saw Paulette winning the Burn FG DJ Award in 2007 and earning her rightful place amongst her French DJ peers including David Guetta, Bob Sinclar and Joachim Garraud. She is one of only a handful of DJs/residents who can claim the honour of having a weekly Radio FG show which boasts a 4/5 rating by listeners and has one of the highest online hit-rates of the station.

The end of 2009 sees Paulette’s labours coming to fruition as her radio reach widens with new weekly residencies on Radio FG (Belgium) and monthly residencies on Rouge FM (Switzerland) on the ‘Life Is A Bitch’ radio show, including her flagship show for Radio Loca (Sweden). She continues to headline all over France (Amnesia, Cap D’Agde), LC (Nantes), Inox (Toulouse), 4Sans (Bordeaux), Villa Rouge (Montpellier), Les Planches (Deauville) and as far afield as Gatecrasher (Birmingham) and Circus in Montreal including many more.

Much loved by Parisians and clubbers the world over for her inimitable style, high-octane dance routines and her personal, people-powered approach to DJ-ing, Paulette’s style is here to stay and you can be sure that a new Parisian residency is not far away. Paulette was bitten hard by the production bug in 2009, producing a re-edit of Mr Oizo’s Positif with Queen resident and Paradise Recordings artist, Michael Kaiser, and creating the original track Boxset (Set it Off) in collaboration with Slok.

Paulette worked hard in the 2009 summer to create a monthly podcast available through ITunes, creating an official and bilingual Facebook fan page (which in less than six months has built an impressive fan base) and she is a self –confessed Twitterholic. She is originally from Manchester where she first broke through becoming the resident DJ for clubs such as The Hacienda in Manchester, The Zap Club in Brighton, Ministry of Sound in London, and currently at the prestigious Queen in Paris.

In 2010 Paulette was once again voted for “Best DJ-ette” at the Burn FG MTV Dance Awards, both in the French and international scene, and claimed the prize. The same year saw her begin the production partnership with DJ Michael Kaiser and Olav Basoski, while she found time to mix the exclusive Toolroom compilation for Radio FG’s Ibiza Fever CD. Perhaps in 2011 we will be blessed to see her new production that is in works, but meanwhile Paulette was inducted in the Technopol team and became part of organising this year’s terrific Techno Parade that took place in September.

She is a unique DJ and a powerful woman in a world less and less populated by DJ-ettes and who, despite the fickle nature of the industry, knows no fear. With her beauty, style, courage and strength she has become someone who never ceases to inspire – or entertain.
